Here’s a little bit from the bride, Cait:

So the whole inspiration for the wedding started when my mom and I were in Anthropologie and saw this awesome table cloth. We started to get all these ideas from it. The colors, the patterns, the fact that it was a little retro vintage put the theme of the wedding into play. So we went with a retro vintage theme with bright bold colors. I had so many different details I wanted to have at the wedding and thinking about all of them it was overwhelming and my mom did not think it would work.. but it all worked out! I wanted to use the old vintage suit cases because they were retro and vintage and tehy were in my colors, I wanted to incorporate the old bikes, hence one of the reasons we rode off on a tandem. I wanted to use the old typewriters which were very cute but to be honest not the most effective way to get notes from people. That is the one thing I would have changed about the day. So the cake was all based off of the tablecloth. If you look at it, all of the patterns are from the tablecloth. That was really fun to design and Cakes de Fleur did an awesome job!

The food was another story. So I couldn’t decide on the food but wanted to have all my favorite foods so I decided to go with a favorites theme for the food and have “Nate’s favorites” and “Cait’s favorites.” This was the best idea in the world! Because Nate and I both had what we wanted at the wedding and it was delicious. Our caterer was so awesome and totally worked with us. I don’t know of another caterer that would have done what we did. I would recommend her to anyone and she is very well priced. So the cute menus and all of the signs were made by my friends. My menu was teryaki salmon, granola, fruit, salad and my favorite dessert “caramelitas”, nate’s menu was bratwurst, little chicken burritos, Greek pasta salad, hummus and chips and his favorite dessert “caramel brownies.” I know the menu sounds random but it was so fun to have a substantial meal at a wedding and everyone loved it!
One other thing.. besides are wedding cakes we had a brides cake and a grooms cake which also resembled our favorite things. I had a friend and a cousin make these cakes. My cake was an Alta ski resort cake because one of my favorite things to do is ski and Nate’s was golf cake because his favorite thing to do is golf. It was so fun to have that addition too, because not many people have both a brides cake, grooms cake and a wedding cake.

We had one other dessert. We had a cute little ice cream shop.. because I absolutely love ice cream! We made our shed into an ice cream shop and had friends make home made ice cream and then our wonderful caterer mades this amazing caramel toffee popcorn that we mixed with the ice cream with delicious sauces. It was all that I wanted. It looked like a cute old vintage ice cream shop!
So if you can’t tell it was the most wonderful day in the world! I loved every minute of it! I am so grateful to my mom and all the hard work and time and pain she had to go through to make this day so great! Every one was so helpful and so great about everything! I loved it!

Love this wedding! So adorable and fun! But, I really really wanna know.. where did you get your shoes?? I’m looking for a sweet pair of low heels that are kinda neutral. I’m already taller than my groom and I don’t want to add to it, yanno? :)

I am embarrassed that everything I wrote was in that blurb. I have a million typos and grammatical errors, so please forgive me! My shoes were from The Children’s Hour on 9th E. and 9th S. in Salt Lake City.

  • hey Cait! no worries, I think everyone is starstruck by all the loveliness!

  • What an adorable and personal wedding! That dress is absolutely lovely! My favorite thing about this post is reading Caitlin’s description of everything and getting the feeling of just how perfect her day was for her and her groom. That’s the best!

omg… i love love love that dress. Caitlynn – if you ever (well, soon) decide to sell or rent out that dress… for reals, message me. I looked on Melissa Blackburn’s site but don’t see it – how did you find it? It is perfect – and your colors! Love those. I should show people your pictures when they ask me “so what are your colors”… like picking two colors is possible for a whole celebration!!!

Fabulous! As a huge Cakes de Fleur fan, it is fun to see their delicious cake become such a colorful print-inspired delight. If possible, please share the caterer’s name to help connect me with someone so flexible, well-priced, and awesome. I quite like the idea of a favorites theme.
