Brooksville Florida Wedding

We couldn’t love this Southern wedding more if we tried. A truly romantic day with a relaxed atmosphere full of love and laughter, Cara and Travis’ wedding day is one we truly wish we could have seen in person. Our thanks go out to the incredible team of Papered Heart Photography, Dairing Events, and The Anti Bride for helping put this together!

From the bride, Cara: Our wedding was very laid back while still being completely romantic… it was intimate even with a large number of people. We wanted everyone to feel at home and a part of the family. Music is something that we are both extremely passionate about, so we kind of had a bit of a music festival feel. With 3 bands and a DJ, we just wanted everyone to leave our wedding and say “man, THAT was a blast.”

Flower recipe: Our florist specializes in asymmetrical, funky arrangements. When we told her that the venue was on our family’s farm, she was so excited to have the chance to forage the natural surroundings while also including our favorite blooms. We used succulents, anemones, garden roses, eucalyptus, dusty miller and tons of greenery, some of which were picked from the side of the road!

The style was very boho-chic meets vintage. The color scheme was muted; lots of greenery and white and soft colored blooms in vintage brass containers. DIY projects included making a vintage sheet music chandelier for above the dance floor as well as hand dipping 300 magnolia leaves for the place settings.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Be who you are. If you’re planning a wedding, I’m sure you’ve heard “it’s about you” a hundred times by now. But I honestly cannot stress that enough. Looking back on your day and remembering looking in to the eyes of the person you choose for the rest of your life is unmatched. Remember those moments. Plan your wedding as a direct reflection of the love you share.

Wedding Music:
Bridesmaids’ Processional: “Blackbird,” The Beatles
Bride’s Processional: “Little Martha,” The Allman Brothers Band
Recessional: “Here Comes the Sun,” The Beatles
First Dance: “Blue Sky,” The Allman Brothers Band
Our friend and amazing local Jacksonville musician Nicholas Williams aka Whetherman played the most beautiful ceremony music. While the guests were being seated, he played his gorgeous original songs. Obviously The Allman Bros are our favorite band. Travis proposed to me at Wanee music festival during the Allman Bros live performance of “Blue Sky”. It had to be our first dance! One of our favorite things about the wedding was being able to have one of our favorite musicians, Zach Deputy, play at our reception. He even passed out CDs of his set afterwards!

  • Not only did I love being a part of this wedding from a Wedding Designer’s standpoint, but as a best friend and Bridesmaid! Lovely feature!!

  • GORGEOUS dress! Is that a removable off the shoulder lace overlay? Any additional details on that would be fabulous!

    • Thank you so much! It was originally a strapless dress and I had an amazing seamstress who added removable sleeves from extra lace that we ordered. It was the best of both worlds!

  • I am desperate to know where this is and if it’s possible to have this venue! It is so beautiful!

  • Everything about this wedding is perfect! I am getting married at a family farm in Brooksville in January, where did the pews for the ceremony come from?

  • i absolutely love this wedding! Is it possible to have one in this same venue? I live fairly close to Brooksville and have been searching for a beautiful outdoor wedding venue nearby!
