Blush and Gold Utah Wedding

Blush and Gold Utah Wedding

If antique chic and rustic elegance got married, this wedding from Alixann Loosle Photography would be their baby — no question. A dream team of vendors came together to make this big day a reality, including event design by Michelle Leo Events and lush flowers from Urban Chateau Floral. Naturally, I can’t leave out the ultimate show-stopper, bride Jessica in her Jenny Packham gown — beyond.

From the bride, Jessica: The intended vibe was to be something like elegant vintage. We rented some really nice vintage furniture pieces. We used a lot of gold accents to really help with that elegant feel. The day ended up being very intimate and romantic. I just love classic furniture pieces, and timeless design. I think the kickstarter to solidify the theme though was my amazing Jenny Packham dress. I wanted gold to be a big element of the wedding with an infusion of peaches and blush and pops of coral, and ivory. I didn’t want to go with a theme, I just went with what felt right to me with some vintage pieces like the furniture and my dress, and timeless colors and flowers. Our DIY projects were the homemade peach jam favors. My Grandmother, my mother and I all worked on them.

Bouquet recipe: I wanted garden roses and ranunculus and then it was a mix of textures beyond that.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Nail down the things you can’t live without, whether it’s certain pictures for your photographer, the venue, anything. And then the things that you can compromise on are easier. If you are having your wedding outside, really put thought into a weather backup plan. I really wish we had gone thru a backup seating layout for inside the barn, when our dinner outside got rained out. It got chaotic having people moving furniture and no one knowing what to do with it or where it goes. If I could go back it would be the one thing I would have changed, knowing exactly how things should be set up in either situation so everyone is on the same page. It goes by in the blink of an eye so focus on the moment, because before you know it you are driving away going “I can’t believe it’s over already!”

Wedding Music:
Processional: “Ho Hey,” The Lumineers, covered by Lennon & Maisy
Recessional: “Can’t Take my Eyes Off of You,” Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, covered by Lauryn Hill
First dances were supposed to be “Marry You” by Bruno Mars and then transitioned into “Suit and Tie” by Justin Timberlake. Didn’t quite work out that way when we had to shuffle everything into the barn after it rained.

From the planner, Michelle Leo Events: Jessica came to me with a very clear vision of what she wanted: Pretty, classic, sophistication sprinkled with vintage and rustic details. She knew she wanted to use gold, blush and ivory (one of my favorite color combos) and a splash of mint. She also knew she wanted to find the perfect rustic setting for this beautiful event and chandeliers and romantic draping were a must (my kind of wedding)!

After finding the perfect barn, I immediately went to work putting together designs for her table settings. Vineyard tables, silky blush runners and gold vessels for all the amazing blush and ivory blooms. We decided to create a lounge area for the cocktail hour that was full of romance and vintage elements. The different settees and coffee tables made for such setting that was as inviting as it was romantic. Coffee tables were decorated with little touches like lace doilies, a vintage telephone, and pink depression glass full of blush and buttery colored macarons.

I could go on and on about all the pretty details of this wedding but in all honesty, the bride stole the entire show (as it should be) in her stunning Jenny Packham gown from Alta Moda Bridal. This dress was simply exquisite and Jessica couldn’t have possibly looked more beautiful if she had tried. She just glowed all day and by the end of the night, she was as radiant as ever as she and her hubby bid their guests goodbye, through a romantic sparkler send off showering sparks and love.
