Kent Garden Wedding

All kinds of pastel and pretty were present in this UK wedding photographed by Katy Lunsford. Shades of cream and lilac were beautifully scattered throughout the venue, along with bits of vintage and handmade decor, making for a true English rustic-chic affair.

From the photographer, Katy: Ladan and Marvin’s wedding was a beautifully styled, pastel-toned, rustic-chic affair. An elegant civil ceremony and reception dinner in a weatherboarded barn, followed by a tradition-filled Iranian ceremony and Persian dancing under the stars. Ladan styled most of the wedding herself, taking inspiration from blogs and magazines, sourcing pretty details from vintage shops, hand-making decorations and using the artisan skills of friends and family. The venue, Foster House, or ‘Pale and Interesting – the Venue’, is a stunning location situated in the Kent countryside (in the UK). Owned by interior designers, it is styled to perfection and full of light.

The theme for the civil wedding and reception was laid-back rustic, inspired by the venue, with pale lilacs and creams, hessian, wood and lavender. The tables were decorated with a hessian table runner with the bride and groom’s initials painted on. Each table had old books stacked in the middle with different decorative pieces (Russian dolls, vintage mirrors, mini birdcages, candle sticks, jars of flowers, etc. Each table had a laser cut word on it (the word love in different languages) which was the table “name/number” and menus were tied with twine and a laser-cut name tag and lavender. During the drinks reception, guests were entertained by a jazz saxophonist and there was a DJ for the evening party, where guests danced under the stars to a mixture of Persian and British music. At the end of the night, Ladan and Marvin made their exit through an arch of sparklers.
