A Dreamy Vintage-Chic California Wedding

Shannon and Christian’s wedding was so incredibly dreamy! Would you believe it was planned in only 6 weeks? Believe it! The moment Noa of Feather Love Photography sent this wedding over, I was head over heels in love! It was shot and processed entirely by Feather Love’s newest associate photographer, Moe.

The airy and ethereal feel of these images lends itself perfectly to the vintage-chic look Shannon created. Oh, and check out her bouquet! Are you swooning yet? I know I am. This bouquet ladies and gentlemen, is floral perfection!

More from the bride, Shannon:

My inspirations for the wedding (and life) are a mix of old with new and hand made. We are both artists, I’m a painter and Christian is a photographer and musician, so we really hoped to express our creativity into the day without getting too fussy over the whole thing. We like to keep things spontaneous and let the details work themselves out. You can only plan so much and then you just have to ‘let go’ and watch how it evolves naturally. One thing that was so nice to hear from friends and family is that they really felt like it was incredibly personal and that they saw our personality in every part of the ceremony and reception. I suppose that’s how I always envisioned it to be.

The centerpieces were arranged by my aunts with flowers that we purchased at a local grocery store.

We decided to get married at my parents home in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. We wanted it to feel very personal and we wanted to keep things simple. After so much research on venues, we decided that our first thought (my parents house) would be the best choice for us. It really helped to have it there since we wanted to add a lot of our own touches to the day. This allowed us to set things up ourselves a few days before hand.

I had my husband pick up the napkins from our caterer a few days before, and hand rolled each of them with a piece of French Lavendar and the jute string. We pre-ordered baby succulents for the favors, and again used garden jute to tie a bow around them.

Just remember what the most important things are to you and that you don’t really have to fit in every detail, because it can get to take the fun out of the whole thing if you try to over plan. To remember that it is going to be this one amazing day in your lives and to continue to remind yourself that it should really be just fun!! The minute you feel the stress come on…just start thinking of the honeymoon! It worked for us!
