Jes + Caleb’s Indie Wedding Part I

Jes and Caleb created absolute magic with their wedding, photographed by Carissa of For You Love Me. Would you believe that they planned everything in just under 3 months with a budget $4,000? Believe it, because they did!

The bride, Jes has provided some great advice and insight:

Caleb and I spend our first six months long distance -him in Nashville, me in Philadelphia. We traveled to see each other as much as possible and we both have a love of public transportation. Caleb’s sister Adalie took our engagement photos in a train museum and we used them in our invitations and that brought a theme of travel into the wedding, but we tried not to push its limits.

Caleb is an Web Interface designer and is all about modern minimalism. I love vintage and modern styles. We wanted our wedding to reflect the pairing of the two — but mostly we wanted a relaxed setting for our family and friends that was simple and beautiful.

Caleb and I planned our wedding in a little under 3 months. And in the last week, we literally had nothing to do but wait for the big day. What helped us was that we decided everything in the first week. Once we had a plan, we put it into a calendar and took it one step at a time. Some days it got hectic and stressful, sure, but we tried to keep the real goal in mind: an awesome marriage, not a perfect wedding. Thankfully, we got both.
