Intimate Home Wedding

Bohemian Weddings

This wedding shot by Tin Sparrow Studio may just be the sweetest thing ever. Rachael and Pete married in their own New Jersey home only two days before Christmas, with just an officiant and two photographers in tow. The bride’s wedding gown was a vintage find and no more than $100!

From the bride, Rachael: Our wedding was exactly what we envisioned… simplistically perfect and selfishly private. We wanted to get married in our favorite establishment… our home; surrounded by all of our comforts, collections and treasures. We decided it was important to have that moment just for us… no audience, no distractions, just us. After our ceremony, we stopped by my favorite store, Parcel in Montclair, to capture the wondrous treasures that inspire me. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to celebrate our love. It truly was the best day ever. Hooray for love!

From the photographer, Anna: Rachael (a adorably obsessive crafter) and Pete got married in their home, just the 2 of them along with us (the photographers) as their witnesses. The details were all crafted by Rachael in sweet pastel colors, along with their home. After the ceremony we headed off to town to shoot in the store that inspired Rachaels theme, and after our goodbyes they went to have crepes together to celebrate (I LOVE this couple!).

Little Prince Inspired Wedding

Whimsical Weddings

Who among us isn’t completely charmed by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic children’s novel The Little Prince? Bride and groom Genie and Daniel both grew up with the sweet book, cultivating a love for it throughout the years and eventually incorporating it into their wedding theme, sweetly designed by Lovely Jubilee. The ladies at Lovely Leaf Studio were on hand to capture the day and its charming details, right down to the amazing wedding cake and the darling ring bearer’s costume!

Little Prince Wedding

From the groom, Daniel: I originally found a copy of “The Little Prince” in the basement of my grandmother’s apartment in New York, when I was in 4th grade. I read the book and ended up loving the book for its simple truths about life, meaning, friendship, and love. Eventually, “The Little Prince” became a guide for me in my search for love… I would often quote passages from “The Little Prince” because I was a nerdy English major and a hopeless romantic…

Genie also found “The Little Prince” around the same time as I did… Genie’s mom had bought the book for her, because she wanted her daughter to love the book as much as she had loved it. Genie read it, but didn’t appreciate it until she read about my love for the book in my blog posts during Genie’s college years. Because I mentioned the book so much in his online journal, Genie decided to revisit the book again.

Discussions about “The Little Prince” were a way for Genie and me to connect on a deeper level… and to see that we were truly on the same page! This was the beginning of a new chapter of our lives. Five years later, it seemed natural for us to plan our wedding around “The Little Prince,” especially since the book was our first shared experience together.
